CanAm makes case that Rhoads project in Philadelphia Navy Yard meets strict criteria to expedite review of pending project application
New York, NY – CanAm Enterprises (CanAm) announced today that U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has granted its request to expedite the review of CanAm’s EB-5 project application for a key Rhoads Industries project at the Philadelphia Navy Yard. Rhoads will complete the rehabilitation and fit-out of Building 57 at the Navy Yard site. CanAm has made the case that the project, which helps fulfill U.S. Defense Department and other heavy industrial contracts, meets EB-5 program criteria for granting an expedited review of the I-956F Application submitted by a regional center project sponsor.
“CanAm made a strong and compelling case that the Rhoads project was a matter of U.S. government national interest — including bolstering the U.S. Navy’s nuclear submarine capabilities — which is a basis for an expedited review, “ said Tom Rosenfeld, President and CEO of CanAm, noting that Building 57 has unique specifications that enable Rhoads and its partners, including major defense contractors, to complete highly specialized fabrication activities for customers, including the U.S. Navy.
“CanAm explores every avenue at our disposal to help our investor partners achieve their investment and immigration goals, including those that can streamline the EB-5 visa process. We commend the USCIS for committing to a prompt review of our request and look forward to receiving a timely response to our formal application,” Rosenfeld said.
