The Tumbleweed Battery Storage Project is expanding an existing 125-megawatt facility from a 4-hour to an 8-hour storage duration, nearly doubling its ability to store renewable energy and deliver power when demand is highest. Located in Kern County, California, and operating within the CAISO market, the project plays a key role in supporting the state’s clean energy transition and 100% clean electricity goal by 2045.
EB-5 funding will help finance this expansion. An independent analysis demonstrated that the project will create more than 660 jobs, exceeding the combined job creation requirement for 44 investors.
