Cintas Corporation, the largest uniform supplier in North America, provides uniform and other services to more than 700,000 companies in a wide variety of industries, with major clients including Walmart, Hershey Chocolate, Pepsi, Delta Airlines, Merck, DHL, Jiffy Lube, Sunoco, Aamco, Safety Kleen, and Chemlawn. Cintas also designs, manufactures, and implements corporate identity uniform programs as well as provides other ancillary products and services such as entrance mats, restroom cleaning supplies, first aid and safety products, fire protection services, and document management services.
Cintas has 12 facilities in Pennsylvania employing more than 1,500 people, including an existing facility in Philadelphia with 265 employees and $34 million in sales. In order to accommodate its growth in the Greater Philadelphia region, through its Pennsylvania entity, Cintas plans to construct an approximately 58,000 square foot facility to provide commercial laundry services as well as sales, distribution/delivery, and general administration. Construction is expected to begin in October 2007 and to be completed in April 2008, with the installation of equipment and occupancy by October 2008. Based on existing laundry facilities in other locations, Cintas expects that 148 employees will be hired by 2010, and a total of 250 employees will be hired when the facility reaches full capacity in 2012.
