All Aboard Florida [AAF] is developing a privately owned and operated express intercity passenger rail service running 235 miles between Miami and Orlando, Florida, one of the most heavily-traveled corridors in the United States. Its service will run along an existing rail corridor presently utilized for freight rail service situated in some of the most densely populated regions of the State, including downtown Miami, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach. In addition, AAF has obtained access to approximately 35 miles of an existing highway corridor through a ground lease that will connect the railroad directly to an intermodal facility at Orlando International Airport, a major hub for travelers into and out of Orlando. AAF expects that its passenger rail service will be used by a diverse mix of leisure travelers, business travelers and families, both domestic and international. The EB-5 loan will help finance the south segment portion of the railway that is comprised of a 67-mile rail corridor from Miami to West Palm Beach along the existing corridor.
