The Wisper Rural Broadband Project will bring high-speed internet access to approximately 74,000 currently unserved and underserved households and businesses across rural Illinois. The project involves the development, assembly, installation, and activation of next-generation fixed wireless access (ngFWA) infrastructure using cutting-edge Tarana technology.
The EB-5 loan will fund eligible capital expenditures in rural locations as defined under the EB-5 Reform and Integrity Act of 2022 (RIA), supporting regional connectivity and digital inclusion efforts.
The deployment of ngFWA provides fiber-like speeds with significantly lower infrastructure costs and faster buildout timelines than traditional wired solutions, making it a potential game-changer for rural broadband access.
